Vintage Geoffrey Beene, Beene Bag knitted mohair jacket and dress from the 1970s. The Beene Bag line of women’s wear used the same silhouettes as his couture line. This two piece set is light grey shaggy mohair knit, both pieces are unlined. the jacket has over cast seams that are finished on the outside, the facings are all overcast and visible. Notched lapel collar, two button front closure and two patch pockets. The matching dress is pinafore style, with wide sleeveless shoulders, semi fitted bodice, wide contrasting fabric waist band and lightly gathered skirt, like the jacket, the dress has overcast seams. The dress closes at the side with buttons, there are side seam pockets on either hip. In very good vintage condition. Marked size 6 fits like a size Small.
