Tiffeau & Busch LTD. New York, 1966 chartreuse yellow & black hand print silk organza & silk twill maxi dress. Jacques Tiffeau was known for his elegant designs crafted from start to finish by a designer who actually knew the process & could preform the art all by himself, a rare feat in these fast fashion times, when some designers don't even know how to sew. Tiffeau had vision and lived in the time when he was able to express his talent in new and meaningful ways, encouraging 1960s woman to wear trousers for example. The 1960s was the beginning of the fashion revolution that began after WWII ended, Tiffeau had opportunities galore as far as his fashion future was concerned, but he decided to start a ready to wear business together with Beverly Pruzan daughter of Max Pruzan, of Monte-Sano & Pruzan one of the premier clothing companies of the day. The two formed Tiffeau & Busch, a successful ready-to-wear line of young, coats, dresses, and sportswear separates. Dated 4/18/1966 with a Saks 5th Ave.client tag & the original sales tag plus the Tiffeau & Busch label, this beautiful dress looks unworn.
