Richard Kaplan bold floral print chiffon jewel waist maxi dress from the 1960s. This gorgeous dress has a bold floral print that pops against the black ground, the soft silky chiffon is light and airy. The dress has a jewel neckline with long full sleeves that are gathered into cuffs made from metallic embroidered braid, they close with hidden snaps at the wrist. The bodice is fitted and has an attached under slip of black crepe. The high waist is the same metallic braid as the cuffs and at the center front is a rhinestone jewel set in gold metal, the colours of the stones coordinate with the dress and cuffs. The skirt is gathered at the waist and falls to the hem in semi fullness. The skirt has an under slip in black crepe. Closes at the back with a zipper and hook and eye at the neck and a hidden snap at the waist back. Labeled Richard Kaplan, who was the son of Sylvia and Nat Kaplan, Nat Kaplan owned Nat Kaplan Inc, a US dress business begun in the 1930s, when he died in the 1950s his wife Sylvia took over design and their son Richard ran the company, adding the Richard Kaplan name at the time.
