Philip Hulitar Daisy Embroidered Blue Slub Silk Strapless Gown from the 1950s. Philip Hulitar, born in 1905, was the son of a Hungarian diplomat father and a mother born of Italian nobility, as a boy he attended the Paris fashion shows with his mother and began sketching fashion. He was the head designer of women's evening wear at Bergdorf Goodman for 18 years and in 1949 opened his own design business. His designs are classic and timeless. This beautiful dress from the late 1950s is hand embroidered with daises on blue slub silk. The strapless gown has a long line with a yellow band at the hip top, the bodice is fitted. The skirt is softly gathered and falls to the hem where daisies and petals create a border. The dress is fully lined in silk. Closes at the back with a painted metal zipper and hooks at the top and waist. The yellow band has a bow at the waist back. Fits like a size 4-6, check the measurements below for the best fit.
