Michaele Vollbracht abstract print blue and white stripe silk top and maxi skirt set 1980s. Fashion designer and illustrator Michaele Volbracht is wildly known for his illustrated silk prints. He started his own line in 1979, after working for Geoffrey Beene and Donald Brooks, recieving the Coty Award in 1980. His clothing is unique and always recognizable by his amazing prints.
The print of this silk set is sky blue and white stripes with abstract clouds and what may be stem cherries floating in clouds! This two piece set is from the 80s, the top is a simple kimono style pull on with a bateau neckline, inverted pleated shoulders and deep kimono sleeves. The matching maxi skirt has a shaped banded waist with gathered skirt that has a vertical inverted pleat at the side. The skirt closes at the back with a zipper and hook and eye. There are some light marks on the top, see photos, we have had this dress professionally dry cleaned. Both pieces are unlined.
In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear. Any condition issues will be noted. For visual comparison our mannequin is a size 4.
