Beautiful ivory linen coat from the 1920s in a simple open front design, with a narrow turn back collar...The fabric is worked in a technique called drawn or counted thread embroidery, time consuming, it requires removing threads from the warp and/or the weft of a piece of even-weave fabric, the remaining threads are grouped or bundled together and incorporating decorative stitches to form patterns...The fabric of this coat is light and airy and makes a wonderful summer coat...It is in excellent and very wearable...Unlined all the seams are hand finished the facings and hem are hand done in a button hole stitch with picots inter spaced...Fits like a modern S/sM
