Edwardian Embroidered White Batiste Handmade Lace Dress
Edwardian Embroidered White Batiste Handmade Lace Dress. Heavily embroidered fine cotton batiste tea dress from the early 1900s in a style that is very wearable today. A combination of batiste (a fine translucent cotton), embroidered panels and filet lace make this dress a work of art. The easy to wear dress slips over the head and closes at the upper back with hidden snaps. The bodice has a slightly square neckline, elbow length sleeves and a dropped waist, the skirt is slightly flared and reaches the ankles on the 5'10" mannequin. The bodice is a collage of filet lace, heavily embroidered batiste and embroidered appliques. The skirt is embroidered and appliqued with embroidered motifs...The skirt sides and hem are deep panels of filet lace that have Irish crochet rose appliques. The bodice is lined in fine white tulle, the sleeves are unlined, the skirt has an attached tulle slip. Perfect for a wedding. Fits like a modern S/M.
