Chloe 1981 Karl Lagerfeld Blue Embroidered Button Front Dress Documented
Chloe 1981, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, blue wool embroidered bodice double button front dress. This dress is illustrated in US Vogue May 1981, by Antonio Lopez for, Forecast Fall 1981, the prediction was; bigger, bolder, Richer. This dress is shown in the illustration worn with pants and a cowl neck sweater with a wide belt. The dress can be unbuttoned from the waist to the hem. Made of lightweight navy blue wool, it has round ball buttons at the front from top to bottom. The rich touch mentioned in the article, one of a kind embroideries and prints inspired by artifacts from China is evidenced here in the diamond shaped embroidered and beaded panel done in copper beads and cinnabar embroidery at the front with what appear to be Chinese charterers. This amazing piece is made from soft unlined wool, the dress has a jewel neckline, yoke back with dolman sleeves that have banded cuffs. The skirt is gathered at the and falls full to the hem. There are 2 missing buttons one at each side front bottom.
