Charivari cigarette smoke silk dress from the 1970s. I've had this dress once before, but not with a Charivari label. Charivari was one of the best stores in New York City ever, always on the cutting edge of fashion and usually way ahead of everyone else. The print of this dress is amazing with a repeated image of cigarette smoke rising from a lit cigarette. The dress pulls on, the waist is cased elastic. Short sleeves, wrap front dress, the front is stitched down from the waist to the hem. The dress is unlined. There are some marks at the dress front, it looks like a pin was worn, see the next to the last photo, there is a horizontal pull in the fabric and some light discolouration all in one small area of the front bodice edge, it has been professionally dry cleaned. Fits a size 6. The tie belt is not original. In good wearable condition.
