1960s Trapeze evening coat of textured metallic copper bronze swing style with a yoke back. This one of a kind coat was made for the original owner in the early 1960s, it is labeled Renka Fashions, Great Neck (NY). The fabric is a three dimensional textured metallic brocade in tones of copper and bronze that sparkle in the light and take on either colour depending of the lighting, this fabric is amazing and very rare to see. The coat is open at the front and sits on the shoulder edge, there are narrow turn back lapels at the upper edges of collar. At the shoulder interior nearer to the neckline are two wide straps, from front to back, one on each side that hold the coat in place, they are meant to be slightly visible. The coat has a flared, swing shape, the shoulder seam is dropped, sleeves are cut straight and are bracelet length. The coat upper back features a deep yoke that almost suggests a cape, the coat is gathered below the yoke with a nice amount of fullness. The coat is interlined in an open weave light wool, for warmth, with interlining throughout for shape. This coat is beautifully made with couture details throughout. Lined in pale cream silk satin, the lining has a few very light marks that do not detract from the beauty of the coat. In excellent wearable condition.
