SOLD Yves Saint Laurent Aubergine Velvet Smock Coat 1970s

Yves Saint Laurent aubergine velvet smock coat from the 1970s. I love this coat, we've sold another in black a couple of years ago, but this colour is most amazing. Aubergine in cotton velvet, the colour changes depending on the light. The coat is a classic smock style with bohemian flair. Yoke front and back, this gives the coat fullness, but the weight of the velvet keeps it from being overwhelming. The coat closes at the front with buttons and there is a fold over collar at the neck. Long semi full sleeves have button cuffs. The coat has two hip pockets that are large and top stitched on the outside in the style of some middle eastern ethnic garments, we've lightened a photo so you can see the detail. Fully lined in lighter aubergine rayon. The velvet is in very good vintage condition with no marks or missing nap. Marked size 40, it will fit a size medium, but check the measurements here for best fit.
In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear. Any condition issues will be noted. For visual comparison our mannequin is a size 4.
