SOLD Vintage Original Franklin Fashions Chicago Rayon Print Day Dress 1940s

Vintage, Original Franklin Fashions Chicago, rayon print day dress from the 1940s. The print of this dress is very interesting, like fish scales, this print graduates from small to large, light brown and dark blue, with scattered turquoise "scales" that have an arty leaf and swirl design. The dress has padded shoulders and a wing collar. It closes at the front with large self buttons that are a raised circle with a recessed center, there are hidden snaps at the waist. The bodice is draped at the waist back and the print is large on the back. Raglan sleeves are bracelet length and have shaped pointed turn back cuffs. The skirt closes at the front with hidden snaps at the waist, there are two self buttons below, an open pleat to the hem. The skirt is gathered at the back from the waist to the hem. A navy mesh panel lines the interior bodice back, it is integral to the back drape. Interior grosgrain ribbon waist band. Unlined. Together with an open work blue leather belt that is not original. Fits a size medium-large,. In very good vintage condition.
