Mary McFadden garnet & gold pleated, peaked shoulder asymmetrical hem dress from the 1970s. Famous for her interpretation of Mario Fortuny's magically pleated silk gowns done in the early 1900s, Mary McFadden made her pleats permanent, which in may ways is an improvement, you can sit in her gowns & not worry about your pleats falling out...This dress is such an amazing colour deep garnet, the edges are overcast in gold thread. Jewel neckline with peaked shoulders and long tapered sleeves. The dress has diagonal seams which are over cast in gold thread. The hem is asymmetrical. Pull on, the dress closes at the neck back with a short hidden zipper. In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear.
