Contessa, Hong Kong hand painted raw silk shirt dress from the 1960s. Modernist design in vivid colours, the design is hand done and has irregularities and splotches of colour here and there, the silk is medium weight with the nubby texture raw silk is famous for. Pull on dress has a pointed collar and button front placket that closes with round top gold buttons. Long sleeves have banded button cuffs with gold buttons. The dress is cut straight from bust to hem with curved side hem vents and decorative button on, self fabric tabs above the vents. Fully lined in light weight purple taffeta. Marked size 12 (vintage) fits a modern small.
